John, This is just a quick note to let you know once again how awesome the wheels are I purchased from you early last year. I rode them in over 25 race events including races in 5 southern states as well as the Downers Grove National Criterium Championships in Illinois where I placed 3rd. After all of that not once have I had to touch them with a spoke wrench. Truly a testament to their quality considering as I have mentioned before that I am a hefty fella at over 6ft and over 200 pounds. I think I have finally got some of my teammates on the Neuvation band wagon and so far at least one other racer (out team president) Jeff Dorminey has ordered a set.
Thanks again for a great super tough product and an awesome value.

If you want to buy speed this is one way to do it. The 50 mm deep carbon rim is only 440 grams. If you look at the Pro Tour riders the vast majority of them are using 50 mm on most stages. Once your speeds approach 25 mph over 80% of the power you are using is against the wind. If you are already fast and not using these, they will make you faster.
Rim: 50 mm carbon tubular rim 440 grams. 20H front
Stainless Sapim double butted spokes with alloy nipples.
Front hub 100 grams. uses two R6 precision cartridge bearings
650 grams (weight without quick releases)
With quick release skewer (57 grams each).

Now for the bad news. Most people will tell you that if you’re 200 pounds you stand a good chance of cracking these wheels when you hit pot holes. They require special brake shoes which wear incredibly fast due to the hardness of the carbon. Brakes don’t work as well on them. They are a lot more fragile than alloy wheels. Even the pros don’t train on them. My average speed is about 16 mph and these wheels would be a waste of money for me. If I were going 25 mph in a race these wheels would buy me speed. It’s that simple.
Special offer: Since it’s very possible to trash a rim, I am offering a special rim replacement deal of $250 to replace a Neuvation C50 rim if you break it. This does not include spokes if they’re needed. Contact me for details.
IMPORTANT: Carbon wheels require special brake pads which are included with the wheels.
I consider this my reliable go-to carbon tubular. No bells and whistles (I passed on the ceremic bearings) but a great training or race wheel nonetheless.... more...
