Ultegra DI2 Models
Ultegra DI2 Models |
Most of our sales are for SRAM equipped bikes. We really like the pricing and the quality of the SRAM components. They are different than Shimano but in our opinion, equal or better. The introduction of the new Ultegra DI2 is going to change a lot of that. It seems to be one of the hottest topics in the industry right now. Good electronic shifting at pricing close to SRAM Red price points. The front derailleur shifting is unmatched by anything except for the Dura Ace electronic shifting. We also like the rear derailleur shifting since it's always on the money and trims the front derailleur with each shift. We would like to be able to shift more gears at one time on the rear derailleur but it's not really a huge deal. When I first went to work for Sachs in the early 90's they had prototype electronic shifting but were unable to really come up with anything marketable. The battery technology didn't exist at that time and the biggest hurdle was the amount of power necessary to shift the front derailleur would burn up batteries. Shimano now has it all figured out and with Neuvation bike pricing you can get into an electronic shifting, custom assembled bike for lots less than anywhere else. Unlike the Dura Ace the Ultegra also comes with an available compact front chainwheel so you can get a wide range of gears if you want it. |
